Recorded- Architecture in Persian Miniature
The course will focus on architecture in Persian miniature paintings and various intricate ornamentation on facade and interior of the building. During the course, students will be guided to the various stages of making Persian miniature, focusing on architecture by experiencing the process.
In this course you will learn:
- How to construct the building in Persian miniature
- How to arrange the decorative frames
- How to draw the geometric and biomorphic patterns in context
- What is the traditional color palette used in Persian miniature
- How to prepare the paper for painting
- what is the coloring techniques applied in various ornamented frames
- How to outline and render the fine details
The course will be started with an introduction to Persian miniature, looking at the historical development of representation of architecture and various functional buildings and ornamentations (Islamic Illumination and Geometric patterns). We will analyse the structure of a few paintings to understand the underlying layout and will be familiar with the arrangement and treatment of space in Persian miniatures.
Following a line of gradual development, students will be guided to construct a building in the framework of Persian miniature painting.
Their practices will be checked one by one and necessary instructions will be given. We will also cover the techniques of drawing, tracing, coloring and rendering the details used in Persian miniature painting.
Participants in all the levels of experiences welcome, they will be guided step by step in various stages of making the miniature painting; however, previous knowledge and skill of brush techniques is a privilege.
Students will receive the list of the required materials a week prior to the first session.
